Is The Media Demonic Or God’s Greatest Tool?

A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE ON TECHNOLOGY & FAITH

In recent times, there have been a lot of arguments centred on the fact that this era’s technology (artificial intelligence) is misleading and manipulative.

It’s easy to call the media demonic. After all, it amplifies vanity, glorifies chaos, and spreads misinformation in the blink of an eye. But before we point fingers, let’s remember the same media that corrupts can also convert. The same platform that hosts darkness also carries light.

IS THE MEDIA DEMONIC ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE?
The word “media” comes from the Latin medium, meaning “in-between.” It’s the space between sender and receiver. Similar to the way prayer is a means of communication between the Creator (God) and creation (Men). And if we look deeply, the media is not inherently evil; it’s a tool. Like fire, it can either warm hearts or burn souls depending on whose hands hold it.

Throughout Scripture, God has always used “mediums” to reach people. Burning bushes, prophets, dreams, and even Ravens. Today, He uses screens. The modern prophets are not only in pulpits, but they’re in podcasts, YouTube channels, and even TikTok/Instagram reels.

The message of hope, healing, and holiness is no longer restricted; now it travels fast, and it’s accessible my all in the easiest way possible. BUT, while God speaks, the enemy also streams. Remember, we were blessed with free will. Every click, every scroll is a choice of whose voice you will amplify. The media doesn’t shape the world alone; we do, through what we share, post, and believe.

THE QUESTION ISN’T “IS THE MEDIA DEMONIC?” THE QUESTION IS “WHO’S USING IT?”
Will we hand it to darkness or dedicate it to divine purpose? You’re holding a pulpit in your pocket. Use it wisely. Let your next post preach peace and spread light. And if God could speak through Moses’s staff, imagine what He could do through your screen.

It’s time to turn your media into ministry.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

—Matthew 5:16
